Leea Reese

Leea Danielle Reese began dancing 21 years ago at Jeffie Jean Studio, under the direction of Jeffie Jean Bolton and Jerisse Bolton Grantham. She is a graduate of Northwestern State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre with a concentration in Dance Performance. Her dance education includes training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre dance, and is accompanied by instruction from master teachers such as Frank Hatchett, Brenda Bufalino, Thommie Walsh and the late Al Gilbert. Leea danced as a member of the NSU Jazz Ensemble and Tap Repertory for three years. She has been featured in a number of Theatre productions including Cabaret, West Side Story, Five Guys Named Moe, and Medea. Her choreography has been seen on stage in shows such as Kiss Me Kate, Urinetown, and The Jungle Book. Leea has adjudicated dance team auditions and pageant competitions around the southern region. She served as a guest artist for the Twin City Ballet Summer Intensive in Monroe, LA and for the Carol Still Academy of Dance in Lancaster, PA. She is a member of the Southeastern Theatre Conference and was recently named Chairman of Dance Education and the 2008-2009 Dance Educator of the Year by the Louisiana Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. In addition to teaching at Tari’s, Leea is also the Dance Specialist at Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts.
